Pengda Xiang

I am currently a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Southern California (USC), working on Computer Vision and Computer Graphics. I finished my Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at IIIS (Yao Class, the Special Pilot CS Class led by Andrew Chi-Chih Yao), Tsinghua University. I am actively looking for a research internship for the summer of 2025. Please feel free to contact me if there are any opportunities.

My research interest currently lies in Computer Vision (2D & 3D), especially Generative Models.

Hobbies

Astronomy! As a solar eclipse center line enthusiast, I have observed total solar eclipses of 6m49s (2m31s in Nebraska + 4m18s in Arkansas) and an annular solar eclipse of 4m50s (in New Mexico). I successfully observed solar eclipses on 2009-07-22, 2016-03-09, 2017-08-21, 2023-10-14, 2024-04-08, 2024-10-02 and have stayed in the shadow of the moon 17 times in total, in order to enjoy the cool. We can meet in Spain on August 12, 2026 or in Egypt on August 2, 2027!
Anime! One of my favorite anime is Steins;Gate !
Sports! Basketball, hiking, billards, bowling, cycling, rollar coasters and amusement parks!
Games! MapleStory and Japanese Mahjong (got top 8 in CRMA 2025 Final)!
